Join a Committee! The Mobile Bar Association has several committees for MBA members to connect, volunteer your time and make an impact. As a committee member, it will give you an opportunity for leadership, connect with other attorneys and improve the Mobile Bar. Please note: Serving on a committee is only available to the Mobile Bar Association members whose membership dues are current. You can request to join a committee at any time. Committee selections are held in the fall for the following year. Committee terms are generally for three years. If you are interested in serving, please click here.

MBA Committees

Ad Hoc/Lawyer Assistance - The Lawyer Assistance Committee provides immediate and continuing help to lawyers and judges who suffer from addictions. the program is completely confidential. To contact the Committee Chair, please click here.

Archives and History - The Archives and History Committee actively seeks items of memorabilia, articles and materials related to the history and traditions of the Mobile Bar Association  and its Bench and Bar. To contact the Committee Chair, please click here.

Bar Relations - The Bar Relations Committee helps to identify important national and state bar organizations/initiatives that shape the law and/or shape our profession and recruit/encourage Mobile Bar members to participate. To contact the Committee Chair, please click here.

Bench and Bar - The Bench and Bar Committee prepares, develops and produces the Bench and Bar Conference held annual the first Friday in December. This is a collaboration with the Baldwin County Bar Association. To contact the Chair, please click here.

Bulletin - The Bulletin Committee is responsible for editing and publishing a monthly newsletter of Mobile Bar Association news and events for distribution to the membership. To contact the Publisher, please click here.

Continuing Legal Education - The Continuing Legal Education Committee  prepares, develops and produces CLE programming throughout the year. They look at emerging trends in the law to identify timely and relevant topics of interest to the MBA members. To contact the Committee Chair, please click here.

Entertainment - The Entertainment Committee helps to plan and coordinate several functions throughout the year for the MBA. To contact the Committee Chair, please click here.

Fee Dispute - The Fee Dispute Committee shall attempt to assist clients, lawyers and other parties having disputes pertaining to lawyers' fees with a view toward resolving or minimizing the disputes. To contact the Committee Chair, please click here.

Grievance - The Grievance Committee investigates and reports to the MBA Executive Committee on complaints filed with the Alabama State Bar against Mobile area attorneys. To contact the Committee Chair, please click here.

Law Day - The Law Day Committee plans and coordinates the MBA's annual Law Day events. To contact the Committee Chair, please click here.

Law Library - The Law Library Committee serves as an advisory committee to ensure the efficient operation of the Mobile County Law Library. To contact the Committee Chair, please click here.

Mentoring - The Mentoring Committee implements low or no cost CLEs, mentoring and networking opportunities to newer members of the Mobile Bar Association.  To contact the Committee Chair, please click here.

Nominations - The Nominating Committee develops and submits to the MBA Executive Committee and the membership present at the October Membership Meeting the slate of nominees for the elected MBA positions.

Public Service/Community Outreach - The Public Relations Committee plans and implements  community outreach programming for the Mobile Bar Association. Our Speaker's Bureau is a sub-committee of this group. To contact the Committee Chair, please click here.

Resolutions - The Resolutions Committee prepares and presents resolutions of condolence, and memorials to the MBA membership on an annual basis. To contact the Committee Chair, please click here.
